Adele
sent the entertainment world into meltdown when she appeared to confirm at the
Grammys that she'd married Simon Konecki .
But it would seem that the Hello hit-maker
would have been able to keep her marital status firmly underwraps had she not
let it slip, as her wedding was very much an "intimate affair".
According to Heat , the 28-year-old
chart-topper tied the knot with her boyfriend of five years just after
Christmas in front of a small selection of "family and
close-friends".
The magazine states the London-born singer,
who stormed the Grammys earlier this month with five wins, held the ceremony at
her £10million mansion in Los Angeles to avoid a "fuss".
"It was an intimate affair with just
close family and friends," An insider told the magazine. "Her
manager, Jonathan Dickins, was there, as well as her mum, Penny, and Simon's
ten-year-old daughter Victoria."
The couple reportedly held the ceremony at
home to keep it "under wraps"; with Adele and Simon allegedly doing
away with any faff, choosing to simply exchange their vows.
"Adele didn't want any fuss or to go to
church. She just didn't want to deal with all the hoopla of a big do and risk
people finding out about it," the insider explained.
"The ceremony itself was something they
knew they wanted, but they'd been putting off for a long time."
